Kogi prison break: 2 more escapees rearrested as manhunt continues

Authorities have confirmed the rearrest of two more inmates who escaped from the Koton Karfe Correctional Service facility in Kogi State, bringing the total number of recaptured fugitives to seven out of the twelve who initially escaped.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, the Acting Controller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Sly Nwakuche, expressed deep regret over the tragic killing of a correctional officer by the fleeing inmates.
He reassured the public that security operatives are intensifying efforts to track down the remaining escapees, vowing that they will all be apprehended and brought to justice.
The Acting Controller called on the public to provide security agencies with all the needed information that will lead to the arrest of all the escaped inmates.

Recall that twelve inmates escaped from the Federal Correctional Center in Konton-Karfe in the early hours of Monday.
An officer with the Correctional Center confirmed that one of the escapees have been rearrested and providing valuable information to law enforcement agents.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Government has vowed to work with security agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding the jailbreak.
