NAF airstrikes destroy terrorist gun trucks, neutralize insurgents in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the successful destruction of three terrorist gun trucks and the elimination of several insurgents during airstrikes conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai. The operation targeted an enclave north of Chiralia, within the notorious Timbuktu Triangle.
According to a statement by Deputy NAF Spokesman, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the airstrikes were carried out over the weekend after ground troops provided actionable intelligence.
The intelligence tracked three terrorist gun trucks moving from Sabon Gari toward Chiralia, prompting a swift response from the Air Component.
He said the NAF pilots upon arrival at the target location, identified multiple terrorists and their three gun trucks concealed under trees.
“With precision and lethality, the NAF aircraft engaged the targets, unleashing rockets and cannons that obliterated 2 of the vehicles. As the insurgents attempted to reposition the third gun truck, a follow-up strike was executed, destroying it completely.

“The overwhelming firepower set all targeted vehicles ablaze, while scores of terrorists attempting to flee were neutralized in the aftermath,” he said.
The statement added the decisive operation underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to dismantling terrorist networks, denying insurgents freedom of movement, and providing critical air support to ground forces.
He assured that the NAF remains resolute in its counterterrorism efforts, ensuring that insurgents find no safe haven while reinforcing security and stability across the North-East.
