Tinubu meets ex-Defence Minister Danjuma in presidential villa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed retired General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, former Minister of Defence, to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Saturday.
The meeting was confirmed by the Presidency through a brief statement, which included photographs capturing the encounter.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in audience General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd) at the State House, Abuja, Saturday, February 28, 2026.”
As of the time of filing this report, the purpose of the visit had not been disclosed.

Danjuma previously served as Chief of Army Staff under the military administration of Olusegun Obasanjo and later as Minister of Defence during Obasanjo’s civilian presidency.
He is currently a businessman and is widely recognised for his philanthropic work through the TY Danjuma Foundation.
