Ebonyi Gov Nwifuru suspends 2 commissioners over alleged neglect of duty

In a decisive move to ensure accountability in government, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has approved the indefinite suspension of two key commissioners.
The first is Stanley Lebechi Mbam, the Commissioner for Works, while the second is Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, Commissioner for Infrastructure Development for Concession. The suspensions come in response to allegations of dereliction of duty, signaling the governor’s commitment to maintaining high standards in public service.
The decision was conveyed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor.
According to the statement, the affected commissioners have been directed to hand over all government property in their custody, including official vehicles, to the Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.

No further details were disclosed regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the alleged misconduct.
The suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in force pending further directives from the state government.
