Meet Osborn Nweze Umahi, Nigeria’s young business executive making waves

Osborn Nweze Umahi is a young Nigerian entrepreneur who has steadily built a name for himself in business, cutting across hospitality, oil services and real estate.
He is the first son of former Ebonyi State Governor and current Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, but has largely stayed away from the spotlight, allowing his work and recent political step to speak for him.
Background
Born on March 14, 1998, Osborn had his early education in Nigeria before travelling to the United Kingdom at the age of 15 to continue his studies.
He later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey, England, graduating at 21.
After his studies, he returned to Nigeria as a trained engineer and began gaining hands-on experience in engineering and business, working closely under the guidance of his father.

Seeking to deepen his financial and investment knowledge, he later returned to the UK, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Finance and Investment Management from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
This qualification helped shape his path in asset and investment management.
Career highlights
At a relatively young age, Osborn took on a major responsibility when he became Managing Director of Brass Oil and Construction Limited, a company founded by his father.
He assumed the role after his father became governor of Ebonyi State and stepped back from the daily running of the firm.
By his mid-20s, Osborn had already spent several years overseeing operations in the construction and oil services sector.

He currently serves as Director of Finance at Forte GCC Innovative Solutions, where he is involved in managing investments across real estate, stocks and other assets.
Beyond working in established companies, Osborn has also built his own business brand.
He founded Osborn La-Palm Resort, which has grown into a hospitality brand with hotel branches in Abakaliki, Port Harcourt and Abuja.
Through this venture, he has positioned himself as a young entrepreneur with strong interests in hospitality, real estate and tourism.
Philanthropy
Osborn is also involved in philanthropy through the Osborn Foundation. In 2023, the foundation drew attention after donating books and writing materials to schools in Kano.
It also sponsored the secondary school education of 50 indigent students in Ebonyi State, showing his commitment to education and youth development.
Transition into politics
In 2026, Osborn Umahi made his first major move into politics. He picked the All Progressives Congress, APC, nomination form to contest the chairmanship of Ohaozara Local Government Area ahead of the August 2026 council elections in Ebonyi State.
The move marked a new chapter in his public life, as he shifts from boardrooms to grassroots political engagement.
Net worth

Osborn’s net worth is not officially disclosed as at the time of this post. However, he is estimated to be worth about $5M owing to his executive roles and business ventures.
