IGP deploys newly promoted DIG, 17 CPs to strategic police commands across Nigeria

The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the deployment of a newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to strategic departments, commands, and formations across the country.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, the deployments are aimed at strengthening the operational capacity of the Nigeria Police Force, enhancing leadership effectiveness, improving public safety, and boosting efficient service delivery nationwide.
The statement was signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
The statement said, “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, has ordered the deployment of the newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel and seventeen Commissioners of Police to strategic department, commands and formations across the nation. The deployments are intended to strengthen operational capacity, effective leadership, enhance public safety, and improve service delivery.”
It noted that as part of the directive, DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel has been deployed to head the Force Intelligence Department.
Other key deployments include CP Aina Adesola to the Delta State Police Command, CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia to the Kebbi State Police Command, and CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor to the Bayelsa State Police Command.

“In furtherance of this directive, DIG Gumel has been deployed to man the Force Intelligence Department (FID), while CP Aina Adesola is deployed to the Delta State Police Command, CP Umar Mohammed Hajedia to the Kebbi State Police Command, and CP Iyamah Daniel Edobor to the Bayelsa State Police Command,” it said.
Several other senior officers were also redeployed to specialised units and formations nationwide.
These include CP Osagie John Agans-Irabor to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, FCID Annex, Lagos; CP Johnson Ayodeji Babalola to the Special Enquiries Bureau, FCID, Abuja; CP Adepegba K. Adetoye to the Marine Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja; and CP Tabitha Bako as Deputy Commandant of the Police College, Kaduna.
Others are CP Umar Ali Fagge as Deputy Commandant, Police College, Ikeja; CP Audu Garba Bosso to General Investigation, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Edwin Esiunnoh Ogbeghagha to Community Policing, Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Arikpo Ofem Ikpi to the Investment Office, Department of Logistics and Supply; CP Cyril Uchenna Obiozo to the Maritime Command, Lagos; CP Samuel Yerima as Coordinator of Courses, Police Staff College, Jos; CP Alhaji Mohammed Danlandi to X-Squad, FCID Annex, Kaduna; CP Richard Bala Gara to the Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development; CP Lasisi A. Titilola to the Railway Command, Lagos; and CP Obuagbaka C. John to Safer Highway, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The IGP also charged the officers to demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct in their new assignments.
