8 feared dead as Boko Haram insurgents attack Adamawa communities

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly killed eight people in a series of coordinated attacks on three villages in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Local sources confirmed that the attacks occurred on Monday night, throwing the affected communities into fear and mourning. According to residents, the assailants stormed the villages under the cover of darkness, attacking civilians and causing panic as people fled for safety.
One of the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assailants targeted Zah, Kijing and Mubang villages, adding that the incident has heightened insecurity in the area during the Christmas season.
“Many people believe the number of those killed may be higher than eight, but several houses were destroyed during the Monday night assault,” the source said.
“Many residents were also forced to flee their homes for safety.”

However, the Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Hon. Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, said he could only confirm the recovery of eight bodies from the affected communities.
“It is true. Boko Haram attacked Mubang, Zah and Kijing villages in Hong. For now, eight corpses have been recovered from the three villages, and four persons are still missing,” he said.
Recall that earlier attacks had also been reported in the nearby Mayo Ladde and Garaha districts.
