Scores feared trapped as 2-storey building collapses in Lagos

Tragedy struck in the early hours of Monday as a two-storey building collapsed at No. 54 Cole Street, near Cemetery Bus Stop by UBA Bank in Oyingbo, Lagos.
According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS), the agency received a distress call around 12:20 a.m. and immediately mobilized rescue teams from the Sari Iganmu Fire Station to the scene.
Emergency responders reportedly arrived within minutes and began search and rescue operations, working alongside other first responders to locate possible victims trapped under the rubble.

Margaret Adeseye, Controller General of the LSFRS, confirmed that 15 people had been pulled out alive.
“The rescued include seven adult males, four adult females, and four children, all sustaining various injuries,” she said.
