At least 34 killed as tornadoes devastate southern US

At least 34 people have died after a series of powerful tornadoes tore through several southeastern US states, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Missouri was among the hardest-hit areas, with at least 12 fatalities reported as homes were flattened, vehicles overturned, and power lines brought down.
The deadly storms caused widespread damage, with emergency responders searching for survivors amid the wreckage. Officials warned that the death toll could rise as rescue efforts continue.
Thousands remain without power, and many communities are assessing the extent of the devastation.

Meanwhile, in Kansas, at least eight people lost their lives in a massive highway pileup caused by a dust storm. More than 55 vehicles were involved in the crash as strong winds reduced visibility to near zero, creating hazardous conditions for drivers.
Authorities have urged residents in affected areas to remain vigilant as more severe weather is expected.
President Donald Trump has pledged federal support for recovery efforts, with emergency services working to clear debris and assist displaced families.
