Court rules DSS facility fit for Nnamdi Kanu’s medical care

The Federal High Court in Abuja has declared that the Department of State Services (DSS) medical facility is adequate for the treatment of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu’s lead counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the development in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, noting that the court held that the DSS hospital is capable of meeting Kanu’s medical needs.
During Wednesday’s sitting, the court also directed Kanu to wrap up his defence by October 30, 2025, as part of the ongoing trial.
The matter has been adjourned to October 23, 2025, for the continuation and commencement of Kanu’s defence proceedings.

“MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s case has just been adjourned to 23rd October 2025 for “commencement of his defence”. The Judge further held that the DSS medical facility is adequate for his medical care and that MNK has until 30th October to close his defense,” Ejimakor said.
