West Ham kicked off the Nuno Espírito Santo era with a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Everton, thanks to a second-half equaliser from Jarrod Bowen.

Everton drew first blood early in the match when Michael Keane powered home a bullet header from James Garner’s precise cross on the left. The hosts dominated the early proceedings but couldn’t capitalize further.

West Ham responded with resilience, and Bowen struck in the 65th minute, finding space in the box before his fierce left-footed shot deflected off Keane and into the net. The Hammers finished the stronger of the two sides, giving Nuno plenty of encouragement from his team’s spirited response.

Despite the comeback, West Ham remain second from bottom with just four points, while Everton climb to ninth, level on eight points with Chelsea and three other clubs.
