Empirical Magazine Editor commends Grace Ike, NUJ FCT leadership for impact on journalists’ welfare

The Editor-in-Chief of Empirical Magazine, Livinus Chibuike Victor, has praised the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Grace Ike, and her executive team for what he described as their outstanding commitment to the welfare and professional development of journalists in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.

In a statement, Victor commended the NUJ FCT leadership for the positive impact their administration has continued to make within the journalism community, noting that many journalists have benefited from the council’s initiatives and reforms.

He particularly applauded the leadership style of Grace Ike, describing her as passionate, dedicated, and deeply committed to improving the welfare and healthcare of journalists.

According to him, the current administration has brought renewed hope, unity, and confidence to members of the union while repositioning the NUJ FCT Council as a more active and impactful body.

Victor stated that, having closely observed union leadership over the years, the level of intentional leadership and concern for members’ wellbeing demonstrated by the current administration is rare.

He further noted that the initiatives introduced under Ike’s leadership have strengthened the union and restored dignity and value to journalism practice within the FCT.

The media executive also offered prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and greater accomplishments for the NUJ FCT leadership, expressing hope that the administration would leave behind a lasting legacy in service to journalists and humanity.

The commendation adds to the growing recognition of the NUJ FCT Council’s recent efforts aimed at enhancing journalists’ welfare, professional standards, and unity within the media industry.
