VIDEO: Police rescue Ex-BBNaija winner, Ilebaye, 2 brothers from alleged assault by father in Abuja

The FCT Police Command has rescued a 27-year-old woman, Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel, and her two younger brothers following an alleged violent assault involving their father at Royal Anchor Estate in Wuye.

According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, the police received a distress call around midnight on May 9, 2026, reporting an ongoing physical assault allegedly carried out by Emmanuel Odiniya.

Following the alert, officers from the Wuye Division, supported by operatives from the Department of Operations, were immediately deployed to the scene.

Police authorities said officers met the gate locked upon arrival and had to make several attempts before eventually gaining access to the compound around 2:30 a.m.

Inside the residence, Ilebaye was reportedly found with visible bruises and was rescued alongside her two brothers, identified as Godson Emmanuel Odiniya, 14, and Devin Emmanuel Odiniya, 10.

The victims were initially rushed to the NNPC Hospital for urgent medical attention before being transferred to Yabisam Hospital alongside their father, who also reportedly sustained injuries during the confrontation.

The police clarified that the rescued siblings are currently under protective custody and not abandoned, contrary to reports circulating on social media.

Authorities also confirmed that Emmanuel Odiniya remains in police custody while receiving medical treatment.

The Area Commander Metro, Ufomadu Georglyn, was said to have supervised the transfer of the injured parties for treatment.

The police stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing and that questioning of all involved parties will begin once medical professionals certify them fit and stable.

The case has sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over domestic violence and the safety of children and vulnerable individuals within homes.
