Fire razes property at aluminium company, residence in Oyo

Properties and equipment worth millions of naira have been destroyed following separate fire incidents that affected an aluminium company and a residential building in Oyo State.
The industrial fire occurred at an aluminium company located around Km 110, Iyaganku area of Ibadan, where flames engulfed the facility on Thursday, causing extensive damage to materials and equipment.
Eyewitnesses said the fire spread rapidly within the premises, making it difficult to contain in the early stages. However, emergency responders were eventually able to bring the situation under control and prevent further destruction.
In a related incident, a residential building in Ogbomoso also went up in flames on Wednesday, leaving residents counting their losses.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, confirmed both incidents, noting that firefighters responded promptly and have successfully brought the situations under control.
“Upon arrival, a building used as an office with adjoining warehouse was engulfed by fire. The fire was caused by electrical sparks from an appliance plugged and unattended to and it ignited nearby combustibles, and set the building ablaze.
On the building in Ogbomoso, he said, “Upon arrival, it was discovered that the first room by the right of an ancient residential building was engulfed by fire.
