Opposition parties agree to present single presidential candidate for 2027 election

Opposition political parties in Nigeria have reached a major political resolution, agreeing to field a single presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The decision was taken on Saturday during a national summit of opposition party leaders held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Recall that opposition leaders stormed Ibandan, the Oyo State capital, on Saturday for the Summit.

Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Kwankwaso and other top leaders were present at the event.
Officials of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP faction backed by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde were also in the meeting.
