2027: Buhari’s son Yusuf officially declares bid for House of Reps seat

Yusuf Buhari, son of Nigeria’s late former president Muhammadu Buhari, has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
Yusuf is seeking to represent the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to reports by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), he made his declaration on Thursday in Daura, where he addressed party stakeholders and supporters, outlining his ambition and seeking their backing.
His announcement comes shortly after a strategic visit to Dikko Radda in Katsina on Wednesday, where he reportedly sought the governor’s support ahead of his political move.
“I am here to seek your support, and I assure you that if elected, I will do my best and will never disappoint you, God willing.
“I thank all of you for your time, dedication and support,” Yusuf said.

Speaking at the event, the Dan Madamin Daura and District Head of Dumurkol, Alhaji Musa Haro, solicited support for Yusuf.
“We are here to ask for your support for our brother. We will go to the people in every town and village to seek their support.
“We will also reach out to other aspirants contesting the same seat to collaborate with them and seek their support.
“Even the current member, Hon. Aminu Jamo, did his best. We know how politics is — nobody can do 100 per cent,” Haro said.
Yusuf was accompanied by a former member representing the constituency, Fatuhu Muhammad, and other family members.
