Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo was born on November 6, 1960, in Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.
He began his education in his hometown before attending Kano State Polytechnic, where he earned a National Diploma in Banking and Finance and a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy.
He later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Policy and Administration at Bayero University Kano.

Early career
Gwarzo started his professional life in the education sector as a classroom teacher in 1977, quickly rising to headmaster by 1981.
After obtaining his higher qualifications, he transitioned into public service as a revenue officer. This experience in administration helped lay the foundation for his political career.
Entry into politics
His political journey began at the grassroots level when he became chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area under the People’s Democratic Party.
He served from 1999 to 2003 during the tenure of former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, gaining recognition for his leadership and loyalty.
Rise in state leadership
Gwarzo’s influence in Kano State politics grew when he was appointed Commissioner for State Affairs from 2011 to 2015 under Kwankwaso’s administration.
