Abba Atiku, son of Nigeria’s former Vice President and prominent African Democratic Congress (ADC) figure, Atiku Abubakar, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a move seen as politically significant ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to a report by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abba Atiku joined the ruling party to mobilize support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu. He was formally received on Thursday evening in Abuja by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, alongside the APC National Vice Chairman (North East), Mustafa Salihu.
Abba Atiku also renamed the political group he founded to Haske Bola Tinubu Organinsation.

It was set up in 2022 as Atiku Haske organisation.
