Tension as military combat drone crashes in Niger forest

A military combat aircraft drone has crashed in the Kontagora forest area of Niger State, raising fresh concerns over aerial military operations in the North-Central region.
According to reports gathered by SaharaReporters, the unmanned combat drone went down on Friday under circumstances that are yet to be clarified. The cause of the crash remains unknown as of the time of reporting.
A photograph obtained by the online news platform shows the drone lying wrecked on the forest floor. Despite the impact, the drone was reported not to have exploded, suggesting a possible technical failure rather than a combat-related incident.

As of the time of filing this report, it could not independently confirm the location from where the crashed drone of the Nigerian military was launched.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has yet to issue any statement on the incident, while the Niger State government has also not released any official response.
