Tension as bomb explosion kills travellers in Zamfara

An unspecified number of travellers have reportedly lost their lives following a suspected bomb explosion along the Yar’Tasha–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The incident was confirmed on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Zamfara State Command, Yazid Abubakar. According to him, the explosion occurred on Saturday afternoon, causing panic and casualties among commuters using the route.
“I can confirm that there was a blast in that area but the incident just happened. I can’t tell you details yet. I will update you later,” he said in a telephone interview.

However, residents said the bomb may have been planted by bandits have been causing mayhem across the state.
In a video clip currently making the rounds, travelers could be seen in panic while they flee the area.
