Veteran broadcaster, Aliyu Gesto, passes away in Kano

The Nigerian media industry has lost one of its seasoned voices, as veteran journalist and broadcaster Aliyu Abubakar Getso has passed away.
Family sources confirmed that the respected media icon died on Sunday morning in Kano after a prolonged illness.
Getso, a household name in northern broadcasting, worked with several renowned radio stations over the years, including Kano State Radio Corporation, Freedom Radio, Premier Radio, and Vision FM. His captivating voice and dedication to truthful reporting earned him admiration from colleagues and listeners alike.

He is survived by three wives, children, and grandchildren.
According to the family, his funeral prayer (Janazah) will be held at his residence near Second Gate, Janbulo, in the Kabuga area of Kano City.
