NNMG felicitates with Nigerians on 65th Independence Anniversary

As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Northern Nigeria Minorities Group (NNMG) has extended warm congratulations to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and its citizens, urging collective reflection on the nation’s journey of unity and resilience.
In a goodwill message signed by its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi (Kakaki Bassange), the group described the anniversary as a historic moment that underscores the strength, patience, and hope that have kept Nigeria united despite decades of challenges.
The NNMG paid glowing tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers, past leaders, and everyday citizens whose sacrifices continue to serve as the cornerstone of the nation’s endurance. The statement also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his courage in addressing tough national issues and prioritizing Nigeria’s long-term stability above political interests.
According to the group, Nigeria’s diversity and shared hope remain the driving forces of the country’s spirit and a strong foundation for a brighter future.

“As we celebrate 65 years of independence, we must not forget that what has held us together is far greater than the forces that seek to divide us,” the statement read.
The NNMG further called on Nigerians to remain united, renew their faith in the nation, and work together to achieve the vision and aspirations of the country’s founding fathers.
Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria!
