Meet CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Nigeria’s new Police PRO

Benjamin Hundeyin is a Nigerian Chief Superintendent of Police and the newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
Until his recent elevation, he served as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Lagos State Police Command, where he became widely recognized for his active media presence and efforts to improve police-community relations.
Background
Born in the 1980s in Badagry, Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin developed a passion for communication and public service early on.
He studied English Language at Lagos State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree, before advancing his studies with a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
He also holds a Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
Career Journey
Hundeyin’s career reflects both local and international exposure.
In 2020, he served as part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), where he gained hands-on experience in international peacekeeping and crisis communication.

In March 2022, he was appointed Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command.
During his tenure, he earned commendation for his proactive approach to media relations and his efforts to bridge the gap between the police and the public.
Professional Affiliations
Hundeyin is actively engaged in professional development.
He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).
Current appointment
In September 2025, Hundeyin was appointed as the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, succeeding DCP Muyiwa Adejobi.
In this role, he is expected to lead the Force’s communication strategy, strengthen transparency, and foster trust between the police and citizens through effective messaging and crisis management.
