Nollywood mourns as actress Peju Ogunmola loses only son

The Nigerian movie industry has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Shina Omobolanle, the only son of veteran actress Peju Ogunmola and her husband, legendary comic actor Sunday Omobolanle, popularly known as Papi Luwe.
The heartbreaking news reportedly reached Ogunmola, 56, while she was on a movie set. Shina, who had only recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, was described as the pride of his mother, who frequently celebrated his achievements both privately and publicly.
The news was first broken by popular actor Odunlade Adekola, whose emotional tribute on social media set off an outpouring of grief from colleagues, fans, and admirers. Since then, Ogunmola’s social media platforms have been flooded with condolence messages and words of comfort.

Prominent Nollywood stars have joined the Omobolanle family in mourning, describing Shina’s passing as a devastating blow and an irreplaceable loss to the family and the industry.
