Adamawa express bus plunges into river from collapsed bridge

A tragic accident claimed lives on Sunday after an Adamawa Express bus plunged into the Namnai River in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The incident occurred when the vehicle attempted to navigate the dilapidated Namnai Bridge, which has remained in a failed state for over a year.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who reported the incident, explained that the crash happened in the early hours of the day. According to him, the bus, which was traveling into Taraba, lost balance while attempting to cross the damaged section of the bridge before tumbling into the river below.

The latest crash has stirred anxiety among travelers who regularly use the route, many of whom say the crumbling bridge continues to endanger lives and property.
“We have lost many lives and properties here because of government’s neglect. This tragedy shows how urgent the repair of this bridge is,” a resident lamented.
As of press time, details about the number of passengers on board and possible casualties were still unclear.
