A 47-year-old Indian national, Kalidass Arunachalam, has died after collapsing while on duty at a factory in Ologbo, located in the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

Arunachalam, who served as the Production Manager at Green Hills Agricultural Products Ltd, reportedly slumped at about 11:30 a.m. on Friday during work hours. The incident sparked immediate concern among colleagues and company officials.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, efforts were made to save his life as he was swiftly transported to God’s Spring Best Care Hospital in the nearby Obaretin Community. The emergency response was led by fellow Indian national Tushar Tukaram Phadtare, along with the company’s Managing Director, Suleman Dauda, and the Chief Security Officer, retired Lt. Col. Thompson Udom.

A medical practitioner at the hospital, Dr. Kingsley Dele, confirmed the Indian national had died, despite ongoing resuscitation efforts.

When authorities later visited the facility, the body was found lying on a hospital bed with an intravenous drip still attached. No signs of physical injury or trauma were visible on the corpse.

The deceased’s remains were subsequently moved to a mortuary, while steps are being taken to notify the Indian Embassy in order to inform his family and begin necessary diplomatic processes.
