4 killed in fatal road crash in Ogun

A tragic road accident in Ilaro, the headquarters of Yewa South Local Government Area in Ogun State, has claimed the lives of four people, sparking fresh concerns over road safety in the region.
The fatal crash occurred on Monday at the Oke Iganmu area of the town and involved a yellow commercial tricycle with registration number DED 425 WB and an unidentified vehicle. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the driver of the vehicle responsible for the collision fled the scene immediately after the incident.
In a statement released by the FRSC Public Education Officer for Ogun State, Florence Okpe, the accident was attributed to excessive speeding and dangerous driving. All four occupants of the tricycle—two men and two women—sadly died on the spot.

Their remains have been deposited at the State Hospital morgue in Ilaro, as investigations continue to uncover the identity of the fleeing driver and the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
The FRSC has once again called on motorists to prioritize safety, urging all drivers to strictly observe traffic rules, avoid reckless behavior behind the wheel, and help prevent further loss of innocent lives on Nigerian roads.
