The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a major blow to Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State, launching precision airstrikes that neutralized several insurgents and destroyed key logistics hubs.

According to a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF, the operation was executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK). The strikes targeted terrorist hideouts in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia, based on credible intelligence reports.

The air raids, which took place on Thursday and Friday, were carried out after intelligence revealed plans by the insurgents to stage attacks during the Eid celebrations.

He said, “NAF conducted series of precision airstrikes on Thursday and Friday, based on credible intelligence on the plan by the terrorists to launch attacks on Sallah Day.”

The air raids specifically targeted buildings reportedly used by the extremists for logistics coordination and weapons storage, delivering precise hits that neutralised the threats.

“NAF aircraft targeted terrorist structures reportedly used for storage and coordination, delivering direct hits and crippling planned attacks aimed at disrupting Eid celebrations,” Ejodame stated.

He further confirmed that post-strike assessments showed the elimination of several insurgents and the destruction of critical facilities used by the terror group.

“This pre-emptive action underscores NAF’s commitment to safeguarding civilian lives and supporting national security objectives,” he added.
