Nigerian pilgrim passes away during Hajj rites at Arafat

A Nigerian pilgrim has sadly passed away while observing the sacred Hajj rites at the plain of Arafat, one of the holiest sites in Islam.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) confirmed the incident through its Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, who spoke to journalists shortly after a national prayer session organized by the Commission.
Though details surrounding the death remain limited, Prof. Usman expressed his condolences and assured the public that the Commission is working closely with relevant authorities to provide all necessary support to the deceased’s family.

“We received as a sad news that we lost one of our pilgrims today in Arafat, and the other one died before we left Mecca,” he said.
Prof. Usman clarified that the cause of death was natural and dismissed speculation linking the incident to extreme weather conditions.
In line with protocol, NAHCON emphasized that the identity of the deceased should not be disclosed publicly by either the media or the Commission until the pilgrim’s family has been officially notified.
