Two immigration officers shot in Abuja after being mistaken for robbers

A troubling case of mistaken identity has left two officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) injured after they were shot in the Sabon Iddo area of Abuja on Friday night.
The officers, Oyomide Zion and Hakeem Mashood, were on routine patrol around 10:00 p.m. when they were allegedly fired upon by a man identified as Pastor Darlington, who reportedly mistook them for armed robbers.
According to information shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama, Pastor Darlington is currently on the run, and a manhunt has been launched to track him down.

Police sources stated that at approximately 11:40 p.m., the Divisional Police Officer of Iddo Division received a distress call and immediately dispatched patrol units to the location.
Upon reaching the scene, another immigration officer, Uduk James, informed responding officers that two of his colleagues had sustained gunshot wounds.
The injured men were swiftly transported to the Nigerian Air Force Base Hospital in Abuja, where they are currently being treated.
Authorities have since launched a manhunt for the suspected shooter, identified as Pastor Darlington, with police intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend him.
