EFCC nabs 40 suspected Yahoo Boys in Nassarawa

In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys, in Tamah, Nassarawa State.
The arrests, which took place on Wednesday, April 29, 2025, were carried out by operatives from the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC. The operation followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to various fraudulent online activities.

According to a statement released by the anti-graft agency, items recovered during the raid include 34 mobile phones and five laptops believed to have been used in perpetrating the crimes.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded, reaffirming its commitment to tackling cybercrime across the country.
