Flamingos aim for convincing win against Algeria in U-17 World Cup Qualifier

Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, Bankole Olowookere, has declared that the Flamingos are targeting a dominant performance when they face Algeria in the first leg of their final FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying round on Saturday.
Coach Olowookere noted that a comprehensive victory at home would reduce the pressure ahead of the return leg in North Africa next week.
Speaking to the media team of the Nigeria Football Federation, he emphasized that the team has been working hard to correct the lapses observed during their recent encounters with South Africa.

Expressing confidence in his squad’s readiness and form, Olowookere believes the Flamingos are well-prepared to deliver a strong result at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
The Flamingos will take the field buoyed by their recent 2-0 home victory over South Africa, which followed a solid 3-1 win in Pretoria. The Ikenne stadium also brings good memories, having hosted Nigeria’s Super Falcons’ 2-0 friendly triumph over Algeria in October last year.
The return leg of the qualifier will take place in Blida, Algeria, on Friday, April 25th, where the Flamingos will look to seal their ticket to the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
