PTPA takes legal action against tennis governing bodies over player rights

The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), founded by Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic, has launched legal proceedings against the sport’s governing bodies, challenging their policies and treatment of players.
The lawsuit, filed against the ATP, WTA, International Tennis Federation (ITF), and the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), alleges that these organizations have suppressed competition among tournaments, leading to reduced prize money and an overly restrictive ranking points system.

Additionally, the PTPA argues that the demanding and unsustainable playing schedule, along with late-night matches and extreme heat conditions, demonstrates a disregard for player welfare.
By taking legal action, the PTPA aims to push for reforms that will ensure better financial opportunities, improved scheduling, and overall fairer conditions for professional tennis players.
