NSCDC officer accidentally kills colleague in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been thrown into mourning yet again after a senior officer accidentally shot and killed a colleague in Life Camp, Abuja, on Sunday, September 7.
According to reports by security analyst Zagozola Makama, the incident occurred around 10:20 a.m. when DSC Adekunle Emmanuel was struck by a bullet to his left upper arm, just above the bicep. The shot was fired by another officer as they were heading from a hotel to a principal’s residence at Lias Estate.
The tragedy comes barely 48 hours after eight NSCDC operatives were killed in Okpella, Edo State, compounding the grief within the paramilitary agency.

The victim was immediately taken to Maitama General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead.
His remains have since been placed in the hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the officer responsible for the shooting is in custody and being interrogated, according to sources.
