VP Shettima pays condolence visit to Aisha Buhari in London

Vice President Kashim Shettima has paid a condolence visit to Aisha Buhari, the widow of former President Muhammadu Buhari, following the elder statesman’s death on Sunday, July 13, at the age of 82.
The visit took place on Monday at the Buhari family’s residence in London, where Shettima also met with Mamman Daura, a close relative and nephew of the late president, alongside other grieving family members.
Former President Buhari passed away at a London clinic after a prolonged illness, prompting an outpouring of national mourning and tributes from leaders across the world.
President Bola Tinubu had directed Shettima to travel to London and accompany the body of the late Buhari.

The former president’s remains was initially scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Monday, but was delayed.
Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, said Buhari’s body will arrive in Nigeria by 12 pm on Tuesday and the burial will take place in his hometown, Daura, by 2 pm.
The Katsina governor added that the burial decision was taken following consultations with the family and other concerned personalities.
