A deadly suicide bombing rocked Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday night, leaving at least 10 people dead and seven others injured in what appears to be another brutal assault linked to the Boko Haram insurgency.

The attack occurred at a crowded fish market, a popular local hub, when a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber detonated an explosive device while mingling with unsuspecting traders and shoppers.

According to security sources and eyewitness accounts cited by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attacker infiltrated the busy market by posing as a civilian, allowing him to reach the heart of the crowd before setting off the bomb.

The blast instantly killed the bomber and 10 civilians, while seven others sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Troops of the Nigerian Army, along with emergency response teams, were swiftly deployed to the scene. The injured victims were evacuated to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Security forces have since cordoned off the area to prevent any potential follow-up attacks or the infiltration of additional suspects.
