UK confirmed as host for 2035 Women’s World Cup as sole bidder

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has officially announced that the United Kingdom will host the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup, as it remains the only valid bidder for the tournament.
In March, England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland jointly submitted an expression of interest to stage the prestigious event across the home nations.
FIFA’s rotation policy dictated that the 2035 edition had to be hosted by a country in either Europe or Africa, narrowing the pool of potential hosts.

Although Spain, Portugal, and Morocco explored a joint bid, Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzan confirmed their interest only last week after FIFA’s deadline for submissions had already passed. As a result, the UK’s bid became the sole contender for hosting rights.
In addition to this major announcement, Infantino also confirmed that the United States will host the 2031 Women’s World Cup. That tournament will see a significant expansion, with the number of participating teams increasing to 48.
