NUJ FCT council celebrates mothers on mothering Sunday

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has joined millions around the world in celebrating mothers on this special occasion of Mothering Sunday.
In a heartfelt goodwill message, the Chairperson of the Council, Comrade Grace Ike, paid tribute to the unwavering strength, love, and sacrifices of mothers, particularly those in the journalism profession.
She acknowledged their remarkable ability to balance demanding professional responsibilities with family life, often making immense sacrifices to uphold both roles with dedication.
Comrade Ike highlighted the crucial role women play in shaping societal narratives, nurturing future generations, and upholding the principles of truth and integrity.

She emphasized that the contributions of mothers, especially female journalists, extend beyond their homes, as they play an essential part in informing the public, advocating for justice, and fostering positive change in society.
“As journalists, we recognise and appreciate the resilience of female journalists who juggle the demands of their profession with their vital roles as mothers and caregivers. May this day serve as a reminder of their immense contributions to our homes, workplaces, and the nation at large,” she stated.
The NUJ FCT Council urges society to continue supporting and uplifting mothers, ensuring that their efforts are acknowledged and rewarded.
We wish all mothers a joyous and fulfilling Mothering Sunday.
