FRSC intercepts overloaded vehicle on Yobe road

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has intercepted a vehicle carrying an excess load along the Potiskum-Gashua road in Yobe State, North-East Nigeria.
In an official statement shared on its verified Facebook page on Sunday, the agency disclosed that its morning patrol team from the RS12.31 Potiskum Unit Command apprehended a Volkswagen Golf car on March 27, 2025, for overloading.
The FRSC has consistently warned against overloading, emphasizing the dangers it poses to road safety, including increased risks of accidents and vehicle instability.
The statement provided details of the intercepted vehicle: “Make: Volkswagen Golf
“Registration Number: BBU 380 XA
“Offence: Overloading.”

PlatinumPost reports that despite repeated warnings and enforcement measures, many motorists continue to flout road safety regulations by overloading their vehicles, a practice that poses significant risks to road users.
The FRSC issues thousands of fines annually for overloading and related infractions.
Authorities have urged drivers to adhere to safety guidelines to prevent road accidents and ensure compliance with traffic laws.
