As Muslims across Africa mark the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the Congress of African Journalists (CAJ) has extended heartfelt felicitations to Muslim journalists and the entire Muslim Ummah.

In a goodwill message, CAJ President, Chris Isiguzo (MFR), celebrated the spirit of sacrifice, perseverance, and compassion demonstrated throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

He highlighted that Eid-el-Fitr is not just a time of festivity but also an opportunity for reflection, renewal, and gratitude.

The message reads;

“Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

As we come together to mark the blessed occasion of Eid El Fitr, I, on behalf of the Congress of African Journalists, extend my warmest and most heartfelt greetings to you all. This is a time for reflection, renewal, and rejoicing – a time when the spirit of sacrifice, perseverance, and compassion resonates within each of us.

“Eid El Fitr is not only the conclusion of a month of fasting and prayer but also a celebration of the strength, discipline, and devotion you have shown in your faith. Your unwavering commitment to your religious duties, despite the challenges of our modern world, stands as an inspiration to all.

“As journalists, you are at the forefront of shaping narratives, and offering a voice to the voiceless. Your role as conveyors of truth, in both challenging and joyous times, is invaluable. May this Eid El Fitr bring you not only peace and joy but also renewed strength and purpose as you continue to enlighten and inform.

“Let us take this occasion to reflect on the shared values of humanity, compassion, and unity that we hold dear. Let us also remember that the work we do – the stories we tell, the truths we uncover – is a part of our service to society and our greater responsibility to humanity.

“May this Eid be a source of deep spiritual renewal, of joyous gatherings with family and friends, and a moment of gratitude for the blessings we have received. May it also inspire you to continue working towards a future where peace, unity, and understanding prevail across our great continent of Africa.

“To all Muslims across Africa, and especially to our fellow journalists, I wish you a blessed, joyous, and peaceful Eid El Fitr. May Allah accept your prayers, reward your sacrifices, and grant you health, happiness, and success in all your endeavors.

Eid Mubarak!”
