The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed a list circulating on social media, which claims to contain shortlisted candidates for medical examination, describing it as fake and unauthorised.

In a statement issued on Monday and signed by its Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Ikechukwu Ani, the Commission clarified that no shortlist has been released for the next phase of the ongoing police recruitment exercise.

“The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination,” the statement said.

The PSC clarified that the evaluation of the written examination is still being concluded and that successful applicants would be formally notified once the process is completed.

According to the PSC, invitations for medical screening will be sent through email, SMS, the recruitment portal and other official communication channels.

The Commission reiterated its commitment to a merit-based recruitment process, noting that the quality of personnel recruited remains critical to the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

also warned applicants and members of the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters exploiting the recruitment exercise through fake information.
