Female NSCDC officer run over during convoy drill in Abuja

An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) was injured on Saturday morning after being accidentally run over by an operational vehicle during a show of force exercise in Abuja.
The female officer, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was reportedly struck during a convoy maneuver drill in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
It was gathered that the incident occurred during a convoy manoeuvre exercise at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
According to a source familiar with the development, the officers were conducting a force demonstration when tragedy struck.
An eyewitness said the incident happened on Saturday during their show of force while they were displaying operational movement with their vehicles when one of the vans rammed into a female officer and ran over her.
Video footage obtained by SaharaReporters captured two operational vehicles participating in the exercise.

In the clip, a black van fitted with red wheels is seen executing a sharp, high-speed turn in an open space. Shortly afterward, confusion ensues as the vehicle appears to lose alignment within the convoy formation.
Eyewitnesses said the female officer either fell from the moving vehicle — possibly from an unsecured door — or was knocked down during the sharp manoeuvre, before becoming trapped beneath one of the van’s tyres.
The graphic video shows officers and nearby civilians scrambling frantically to rescue the trapped officer. Several men are seen rushing to the vehicle and lifting it physically in an attempt to free her from underneath the tyre.
As of the time this report was filed, there had been no official statement from the NSCDC or the FCT Police Command explaining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The injured officer was later transported to a hospital in an ambulance shortly after she was freed from beneath the vehicle.
