National Assembly to reconvene February 17 for crucial plenary session

The National Assembly of Nigeria has announced that both chambers of the legislature will reconvene for plenary session at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
In an official notice issued by the Office of the Clerk, Distinguished Senators of the Nigerian Senate and Honourable Members of the House of Representatives of Nigeria were directed to resume legislative duties on the scheduled date.
The announcement, signed by Kamoru Ogunlana, Clerk to the National Assembly, urged lawmakers to take note of the resumption date and adjust their engagements accordingly.

According to the statement, important and crucial decisions are expected to be taken during the plenary sessions of both chambers, making it necessary for all members to be present.
The resumption of plenary signals the continuation of legislative activities at the federal level, as lawmakers prepare to deliberate on national issues and policies affecting the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
