Gov Yusuf drops Buba Galadima as Kano Polytechnic Governing Council Chairman

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has removed Engr. Buba Galadima from his position as Chairman of the Governing Council of Kano State Polytechnic.
The decision was announced on Saturday and made public through the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, according to a report.
In the same announcement, the governor approved a new appointment.
However, the Emir of Gaya, Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, was named as the new Chairman of the Governing Council.
The government said the change followed internal reforms in the institution.

The reforms are linked to the administration’s Kano First Agenda.
Officials said the goal is to improve performance and management at the polytechnic.
“Although the tenure of the Governing Council is for a period of three years, the appointment of the Chairman was terminated before expiration due to ongoing reforms for optimal performance of the polytechnic,” the statement read.
Governor Yusuf thanked Galadima for his service to the institution.
He acknowledged his role during his time in office.
“Governor Yusuf appreciates Engr. Buba Galadima for the services he rendered to the institution and wishes him well in his future endeavours,” the statement said.
The governor also charged the new chairman to work toward rebuilding the school’s image.
He urged him to use his experience and leadership to strengthen both academics and administration.
