Celebration as FG secures release of 130 abducted schoolchildren in Niger

The Federal Government has successfully secured the release of 130 schoolchildren who were abducted by gunmen from St. Mary’s Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Niger State.
The rescue was confirmed on Sunday by presidential spokesman, Sunday Dare, who announced the development via a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) hanle

“Another 130 abducted Niger state pupils released, none left in captivity,” Dare said in the post on X.
The announcement was accompanied by a photograph showing the freed children alongside a woman, with indications that all those taken during the attack have now regained their freedom.
