Man dies after checking into brothel in Port Harcourt

A tragic scene unfolded in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after a yet-to-be-identified man reportedly collapsed and died shortly after checking into a brothel along Azikiwe Street, Mile 2 Diobu.
According to eyewitnesses, the man arrived at the facility on Sunday to meet with some commercial sex workers when he suddenly slumped and became unresponsive. Efforts by those around to revive him proved futile, and he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.
Sources told Daily Trust that moments before the incident, the deceased had a brief altercation with one of the attendants at the brothel. However, the cause of his death remains unclear as of the time of this report.
The Rivers State Police Spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.

It was gathered that a male suspect has been arrested and taken into custody by the police for questioning over the incident.
SP Iringe-Koko added that the Azikiwe Police Division handed over the case to the SCID for discreet investigation.
Meanwhile, some commercial sex workers who operate around the brothel were said to have fled the area following the incident.
